Operation Access - Volunteers Needed

Operation Access - Volunteers Needed

Operation Access is seeking surgeons and specialists who want to volunteer locally to help individuals who lack health insurance, are low-income, and require an outpatient procedure. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, John Muir Health, and a variety of surgery centers have agreed to donate care for procedures performed through Operation Access.

For the last twenty-four years, Operation Access has been organizing medical volunteers and arranging surgical and specialty care in the Bay Area. The need for donated surgical and specialty care is most acute among low-income uninsured individuals in Contra Costa, but there is also a need in Alameda County. Operation Access makes it easy to donate care at the frequency of your choosing, by enforcing referral protocols including a community clinic primary care home, providing interpreters, and by managing scheduling and patient navigation to achieve very high rates of patient compliance.

For information on how to become involved as a volunteer, please contact Program Manager Angelica Gutierrez at (415) 733-0080 or angelica@operationaccess.org.
