The ACCMA is an advocacy organization for its members and the patients they serve.  Below is a list to of some of the services offered to members.  Members are encouraged to call the ACCMA for assistance with any issues affecting medical practice, whether they be reimbursement issues, questions about contracting with health plans, medical-legal concerns or questions, other practice management issues, and any other concerns at:

The following guides are available to members upon request to the ACCMA:

ACCMA Guide to Health Plan Obligations – a guide to obligations health plans must adhere to by law or in accordance with the settlement terms of the CMA-sponsored Federal class-action RICO lawsuit, with sample letters and listings of enforcement agencies to contact when health plans fail to meet those obligations.

ACCMA Information On Compliance with Office Safety and Medical Waste Management Requirements (Cal/OSHA, Injury & Illness Plans, etc.)-  an extensive listing of information resources on office safety, OSHA requirements, medical waste requirements and contact information for appropriate state and local agencies. 

ACCMA Practice Resource Guide – A listing of resources to assist physicians in establishing and maintaining a medical practice, including a practice start-up checklist and listings of resources on reimbursement, managed care, medical-legal issues, general operations, personnel management, patient communications and education resources, information on regulatory requirements, a listing of key websites, and other information.

Improving Billing, Coding, and Collections – Prepared by the ACCMA, this booklet offers advice on setting up billing, coding and collections processes and provides listings for key billing and coding resources.

Silent PPOs: What They Are, How to Avoid Them, and Recourse Against Them  Prepared by the ACCMA, this article summarizes how silent PPOs work and steps to take in response. 
 
Resources for Evaluating Medical Office Computer Systems – A compilation of articles and listings of resources to assist physicians in considering and selecting a computer system for the medical office.
ACCMA Seminars – The ACCMA provides seminars covering a wide range of issues affecting medical practice.  Contact the ACCMA or look in ACCMA publications for a list of upcoming programs.

CMA Assistance – The CMA offers a wide range of information and guidance on practice issues on its website – www.cmanet.org .  Especially valuable is its “CMA On-Call” library, containing numerous documents addressing a wide range of issues including: reimbursement, medical-legal guidance, medical staff issues, reporting requirements, and many others.
