Joint Commission Approves New Medical Staff Standard
On March 18, the Joint Commission announced that it approved revisions to medical staff standard MS.01.01.01 (formerly MS1.20) that are designed to improve patient safety. While CMA did raise some objections, we believe that the new standard is a vast improvement over the previous standard. The revised standard, which took effect March 31, strengthens medical staff self-governance through increased transparency, communications, and accountability. - Medi-Cal Payments on Hold
- While most physicians continue to be paid for Medi-Cal claims, some Medi-Cal payments are being held up while the California Legislature negotiates a new State budget.

- MBC Notice to Consumers
- California physicians are now required to provide a "Notice to Consumers" to notify patients that they are licensed and regulated by the Medical Board of California (MBC). Find resources to comply.
