Blue Cross/Blue Shield Physician Data Stolen
More than 10,000 physicians statewide were notified by  Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California  that their personal information, including Social Security Number, taxpayer ID, and NPI numbers, may have been compromised when a laptop containing sensitive data was stolen. Blue Cross and Blue Shield are urging affected physicians to take advantage of a free credit monitoring service that will provide up to $25,000 in identity theft insurance (with no deductible) and will alert the physician to changes in their credit report. To sign up, physicians should follow the directions provided in the notification letter, or call Blue Shield at 800-258-3091 or Blue Cross at 800-933-6633.

Medi-Cal Payments on Hold
While most physicians continue to be paid for Medi-Cal claims, some Medi-Cal payments are being held up while the California Legislature negotiates a new State budget.
PECOS Enrollment Update
To ensure adequate time to process applications before the January 3, 2011. Medicare is strongly encouraging physicians who are not currently enrolled in PECOS to initiate Medicare enrollment.
CalOSHA ATD Regulations

MBC Notice to Consumers
