CMA Successful in Blocking Medical Board Furloughs

Arnold Schwarzenegger lacks the authority to furlough employees of special fund agencies, including the Medical Board of California.  As a result, Medical Board staff will no longer be forced to take the first three Fridays of each month off and should be able to catch up on the backlog of licensure applications.  The Governor has asked the California Supreme Court to settle the matter once and for all, which the CMA is opposing.
