The California Medical Association (CMA) recently announced that Governor Jerry
Brown and Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom are scheduled to speak at this year's annual CMA Legislative Leadership Conference, which will be held on Tuesday, April 5th in Sacramento. ACCMA members are encouraged to attend this important meeting, which plays an essential role in promoting CMA’s legislative agenda. In addition to hearing from the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and other elected officials and health policy experts in the morning, physicians will have the opportunity to meet with legislators face-to-face and directly participate in the CMA’s efforts to promote health care legislation on behalf of the medical profession and our patients.

This day-long event begins at 9:30 am (continental breakfast beginning at 8:00 am) at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento (1230 J Street, Sacramento), and concludes by 5:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and briefing materials will be sent in advance to assist you in preparing for meetings with legislators. The ACCMA will also reimburse mileage expenses for members who attend the conference. The ACCMA will also be hosting an optional luncheon meeting prior to the conference on Monday, April 4th (at 12:15 p.m. at ACCMA headquarters) to discuss the format for our meetings with legislators and review the specific legislation we will be discussing.

To RSVP, call the ACCMA at 510-654-5383.
