The drinking water in schools is being tested for lead. AB 746, which became effective on January 1, requires community water systems to test the lead levels of drinking water at all California public K-12 schools by July 1. Physicians are requested to order blood lead level tests for patients who attend or work at a school with an abnormal water lead level test, and report elevated blood lead levels to the Alameda County Lead Poisoning Prevention, using this form.
