The US House of Representatives is scheduled to vote this week to eliminate the Medicare Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), a move that is supported by the California Medical Association (CMA). The Board was established, although never implemented, by the Affordable Care Act and was to be a federal agency directing spending cuts in Medicare to meet budgetary targets.
