Anthem has begun its new policy of requiring some patients to use independent imaging centers for MRI or CT scans instead of at hospital-owned outpatient facilities. Under the new policy, AIM Specialty Health, an Anthem subsidiary, will evaluate where medically necessary, nonemergency outpatient imaging tests should be performed; doctors will be given a list of independent imaging centers eligible for patient referrals. The policy does not apply to mammograms or X-rays. To read more, go to http://n.pr/2wzoqW5.
