California has exempted itself from a Federal administrative rule that would allow only 45 days to buy individual health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for 2018 coverage. Californians will have a full three months to shop for coverage (from November 1 through January 31) through Covered California. State lawmakers have introduced legislation that would ensure the same three-month enrollment window in subsequent years.
