Under the Senate’s proposal to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), 32 million more people would be uninsured and three-quarters of the population would live in areas with no insurers in the individual market by 2026, according to Congressional Budget Office. The bill, called the Obamacare Repeal Reconciliation Act, seeks to eliminate tax credits for private insurance, funding for Medicaid expansion, the individual mandate, the mandate that large employers offer health insurance, and taxes on the wealthy and healthcare companies in 2020. To join the fight to preserve access to affordable and meaningful health insurance coverage, physicians and patients are encouraged to visit the American Medical Association’s campaign website, patientsbeforepolitics.org.
