The forecast by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) for the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which seeks to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is that 23 million more Americans would be without health insurance by 2026. The AHCA would cut at least $24 billion from Medi-Cal, and reverse the decline of California’s uninsured rate to a record low of 7 percent under the ACA.
