In May, California physicians will be receiving letters from Noridian, the state’s Medi-Cal administrative contractor, notifying practices which clinicians need to take part in MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System). Clinicians should participate in MIPS if they bill more than $30,000 in Medicare Part B allowed charges per year and provide care for more than 100 Part B–enrolled Medicare beneficiaries per year. You can determine if you are eligible for MIPS by going to https://qpp.cms.gov/learn/eligibility. For help with participating in MIPS, register for four free webinars on Creating a MIPS Success Roadmap, or contact the ACCMA at 510-654-5383 or accma@accma.org.
