The next iteration of United Healthcare (UHC)’s Premium Designation assessment results was sent to physicians in early November, and will be released publicly on January 4. Physicians in 16 specialties were ranked by UHC on national and specialty-specific measures for quality and various cost-efficiency benchmarks, based on claims data from January 1, 2013 through March 31, 2016. Physicians meeting or exceeding the benchmarks will be identified with a Premium Designation notation on their physician profiles in its online physician directory. Physicians who wish to dispute their assessment results must submit a reconsideration request through the UHC website by December 5. For help, contact the California Medical Association (CMA) at 800-786-4262.
