Recent polls show that voter support for Prop 46 erodes once voters start learning more about how the measure will increase health care costs, decrease access to care and compromise patient privacy. In short, the more voters hear our message, the more likely we are to defeat Prop 46. Statewide TV and radio ads and direct mail will be important avenues for getting our message across to voters, but equally important is the major grassroots campaign that is already underway locally. Physicians are a critical part of the strategy because physicians are a trusted source of information, especially about health care matters.
